Good or bad, I’m going to put it out there. The customer feedback below reminded me that I’ll need to have thicker skin doing business in the age of the internet.

We’re taking a different approach as to how hospitality employers and job seekers get together. I figure we’ll need to address these issues head on.

I agree it is different and it could change as we learn more, however; I’ve searched for jobs in LA driving going door-to-door delivering resumes - that costs time and money. I’ve also spent a lot of time sending resumes through Craigslist and never hearing anything - that takes a lot of time.

We believe some people may appreciate being able to apply to quality jobs on our site and in addition use the resume posted to our site to easily apply to jobs at Craigslist and other places for $8.95 a month.

We give everyone a free trial to try it out - no cost, no obligation, no credit card. We’re just getting started and time will tell as we get more and more jobs.

Still, I know it’s not for everyone.

If you are a server or bartender, we’ll be posting a new listing today.

We had one more exchange following this one. Pretty sure I didn’t convert him, however; once we get a few more jobs on the site maybe he’ll find the service to be useful.

On the really positive side of things, 175 other people took a chance on us this week.

***UPDATE***

We’ve been thinking about our experiment to charge a fee for job seekers to use the site following their free trial. Then it occurred to me while using West Site Rentals that it would suck if we became the dominant player for hospitality jobs in LA and job seekers had to pay to apply to jobs. That’s not the way to show that “We Love Restaurant People”. So moving forward, we have no plans for charging job seekers to use the site. That feels better and something I can be proud of.

Thank you all for participating in our SOFT OPENING.

Since our launch four months ago many of our members have found great success using our job matching service.

We’ve also received feedback/requests from employers and job seekers about features and functionality that would improve the overall experience.

So over the next few weeks we’ll be adding the following:

  • Capture specific work experience (dates, employer name, job description) in job seeker resume/profile
  • Allow job seekers to use their Table 20 profile/resume to apply to jobs found on other websites like Craigslist, Jobster, Indeed.
  • Improve layout of resume/profiles
  • Add resume print option
  • Send daily email alerts to job seekers of new jobs of interest
  • Send daily email alert to employers if there are job seeker responses to ad
  • Add archive feature for job ads

The judges have decided! Now it’s time to celebrate and slurp punch (for free) with 6 of LA’s Best Bartenders.

On Oct 4, 7pm-10pm we are hosting an invite only party at Takami Sushi Restaurant. Each of the 6 finalist bartenders will contribute their own unique rum punch concoctions to be sampled by party guests. Takami and the attached Elevate Lounge are on the 21st floor of a building in downtown LA. The outdoor areas are amazing and the views are spectacular.

This is an exclusive party and no tickets will be sold. All guests will be awarded entrance via our judges websites, media partners, and online and television competitions. The winning bartender will be announced at the party.

The judges are your key to snagging tickets to our invite only event. They will be running unique ticket giveaway promotions to readers of their blogs - stay tuned.
